By far the most helpful shop Ive ever been to. Ive shopped all over the country and this place tops the chart. Everyone there was very knowledgeable to what I would say expert level and they handled all of your concerns and questions with respect and honest answers. You arent going to find better prices anywhere that Ive seen but for what you get between all the options in inventory, professional service and friendly atmosphere, I wouldnt mind paying double if I had to. I also drive almost two hours to go there if that tells you anything.

This is a special retailer. Throw all the stereotypes out the door. They are the only dealer in town that truly has a customer focus. Diana and Larry are phenomenal to work with. And the staff are cordial and friendly. The inventory is the best in town and the store is impressive. I wish I could give them 10 stars... They are truly customer focused.

I was looking to purchase a very special item, the AR 15, which was simplified by the gentleman who sat down and broke every component of each product and why it matters towards my means and preferences. My wife and I visited first state and I asked for Kevin because I read a review on him, he didnt disappoint us, I told him we have conceal permits and he pointed us in the right direction, we love our purchase and was very pleased. Great customer service and he handled the pressure with people waiting in line and still gave us his undivided attention, he took the time to explain things to us. Thank you Kevin!!!!!

Went there in the beginning of January 2020, first time buying a firearm, first time going to a gun store. I was helped by a young person named Kevin. To be honest, I was really scared. I have never even touched a real firearm, so I had no idea on how to use it or to check it. Kevin was great, I was taking up a lot of time and he had plenty of other customers to take care off but he didn't rush me even once. I told him upfront that I dont know what I am doing and that this is my first purchase, he explained everything to me in great detail. Few more things... I went into the shop around 5pm on a Saturday, they close at 6pm, but Kevin never made me feel like I was being rushed. Lastly, I am a Muslim-American so I was ready for being stereotyped but I felt very welcome in the shop and the whole process was perfect. Thank you First State Firearms and huge thanks to Kevin.

This place is fantastic. The people are great. I drive for a living and had a need to find a place to store my firearms because i had a delivery that needed to be made on the nation air gaurd base.. and like all gov facilities you cant bring them on. So i had called them and asked if they could store them for me while i make my delivery and they said yes when they could have just told me no like the other places i had called. Didnt even charge me storage but because of this it lead me to buy from them because i believe that people who do good service to you, you have to give it back and also because these types of people are hard to come by and would recommend them hands down a really good positive experience with them.

I would not do business with this place again. They were selling a colt python below market value and i decided to trade in a pistol toward it and had them put the python on layaway. When I came back in to check out the python further i discovered that it appeared just out of timing on one round and had scorch marks on the frame outside of the blast cone. When i pointed it out to their salesman he assured me that their revolver was fine. I still did not feel comfortable with purchasing the python from them so i was forced to take store credit instead for the pistol that i had traded in. However, the owner wouldnt let me have my original pistol back because they now had it on their display shelves for sale. Furthermore, it would seem that they took that colt python that i believed had timing issues off of their sales floor as well. It appeared to me as though they could have been possibly trying to sell a defective colt python as usable and safe. I don't know if thats what happened or not, but it appeared that way to me. Like i said, i won't shop here again.

Iam not a first time buyer .So I am a wear of how transaction should go. I already purchased 2 firearms from them one of which included a trade in on my part. The prices are fair everyone with experience knows you wont get what you paid but I was satisfied with my trade. large instore selection .

The long wait for First State Firearms to open was well worth it. My first visit today was great. Met the owners who were friendly, knowledgeable, and willing to take the time to get to know you and answer your guestions. No bums rush. Their future plans of expansion to include an indoor pistol range is exciting to say the least. They said they plan on having a genuine gunsmith available as well.They dont seem to want to be just another store, but a community shop that can offer a full service to their customers and small enough to know you, know your likes and dislikes. I thought their prices were going to be high, but was shocked and pleasantly surprised at how competitive they are, some prices being the same or less than the big stores. I could not leave without buying something and was tickled with my purchase. I hope many will visit the shop and help them grow. I enjoyed meeting Boot, Kevin, and Diana. They are great people. Dont take my word for it, come meet them yourself. Thanks Guys. It was a great first experience.

Me and my buddie have stopped in a few times now just to browse stock and have not once been turned away or forced to buy something and because they have many high class and rare guns come threw the shop all the time! Not to mention the prices are some of the best you will find in new castle! On top of that the customer service is top notch any question you have will be met with knowledgeable answers by very friendly people I can not think of a single complaint.

Ive been in the shop a few times and one of the older employees was disrespectful then i tried to call to get some information on a accessories for a pistol i bought there mind u i spent over 1400.00 on and the guy blew me off and refused to go see if they had any in stock i wont spend another dime at there establishment!!!

Making my 1st purchase here will definitely be coming back. The staff are very friendly and helpful I'm always looking to help out the little guy and not the big Box stores. When I was in there they were adding more display space for more inventory so in the future there will be a lot more to check out.

Delaware has been long over due for a clean, well stocked store that offers above and beyond inventory and a staff that is second to none. It was nice to walk in, be greeted, and get what I wanted in a timely manner. 4/18/20, this is clean and well stocked, stopped by again only to be greeted and treated like family, no pressures, the couple of gun shops around smell like musty basements, and the attitudes match.. great job first state!!

Amazing Service! Walked in and they saw to me right away. Had a jamming issue with my firearm which they took care of then took the time to explain to me what was happening and how i could fix it. Very impressed with their service. They were professional, knowledgeable and personable. I brought them a Glock I had purchased at another shop, the pistol failed to feed. Glock told me I must be shooting the pistol with a limp wrist despite the fact that my husband reproduced the problem. First State quickly found the problem with the firing pin, corrected it and the pistol fired perfectly. As a woman, I feel very comfortable going there. This is our first 'go to' place for guns and supplies.

Walked in just to see No intentions on buying.....yet. They are still getting inventory in, being as they just opened a couple days prior. Long story short, I purchased a Sig. I will be going back for the Glock I had my eye on.Prices are competitive, better than another local place.People are great!! Very friendly and knowledgeable. Me, as a woman that open carries and owns about a dozen different guns, I did NOT get the 'your a woman what do you know' look or treatment. I was never made to feel like I shouldn't be there. They do have an excellent lay away program, which is welcoming.Very welcoming, even to those who don't know much about firearms, as I was listening to a couple conversations.All in all, we will be back alot.
