Absolutely amazing!! My husband, 11 year old daughter and I loved our first experience with Edge of the Woods Outfitters that we booked a longer trip the following weekend. We just did the 10 mile trip down the river on a raft and spent a perfect day taking in the sights and sounds of nature. The team at Edge of the Woods make this an easy and stress-free experience from prep to drop off and pick up. Most importantly, they're committed to making the interactions among the staff and guests as safe as possible during these Covid times, so that we can all continue to enjoy this wonderful escape throughout the summer.

Easy to book, great quality and prompt service.We had come here for some reason light rafting. There were 7 of us, 3 of which are kids, 7, 5 and 4, so it was important to us that the experience be hassle free and enjoyable. The staff here were not just helpful, they were super friendly to the kids. They allow you to take your time going down your ride, you are encouraged to go at your own pace, stop and go as you please. At the end of the trip, you call them and they come to pick you up. We did the shortest ride as we weren't sure how the kids will be. After the 4 mile rafting trip, we are instructed to pull up at Portland. Unfortunately, there are no facilities nearby that the children could use, so parents plan accordingly! Luckily, they were quick to come and pick us up to head back to home base. The restrooms there are portable bathrooms and were what you'd expect. There was a foot rinse which was great and a bunch of picnic benches for lunch. The kids were able to play at the pirate boat play structure while the adults finished eating.

Super easy booking, we were concerned about the forecast ahead of our booking (significant chance of thunderstorms during our tubing window) and Edge of the Woods was super accommodating (weather turned out to be fine). Efficient and professional check in and transport to the river. The 6 mile trip is about 4 hours of self guided tubing if you are consistently paddling to be prepared to work a little bit if you want to get done in 4 hours. Just floating along would take you significantly longer. Views and swimming were amazing and price point was competitive. Would definitely repeat. Pro-Tip: bring water shoes! Hopping out of the tube at any point will likely require you to step on rocks at the bottom of the river which are numerous and some of them are sharp.

We got their kayaks on 27th July 2020. Kayaking was fine and a lot of fun but one of their guys who picked us up was not wearing a mask. He drove us in a van with another group with closed windows without a mask. Very irresponsible. Would not recommend in These times. Rest of the staff were wearing masks.

WOW! Just 2 hours drive from Long Island to explore a different world of Delaware Water Gap nature. We had two single kayaks and it was the best choose for people who want to see more, but don't mind to row some extra. Service was decent, arrival and departure - all aligned. Stuff was super friendly and nice and we will definitely do that again soon!

Nice experience and staff, but be very careful what you sign up for. You should go with a larger group. The canoes and rafts are not easy to maneuver even in perfect weather. Water is shallow and you have to constantly paddle to stay straight. It is not a relaxing ride by any means. Only made it halfway with many stops and had difficulty and luckily got an emergency pick up....route is VERY long 4-6 miles and 2-3 hours all on your OWN.

Awesome service from these guys. I have done a fair amount of nature tours and this place was as professional, helpful and friendly as I have encountered. We did the tour hour kayak tour, but unfortunately we could not swim because the water level was so high. We got to go through a couple light rapids, more exciting than scary. Everything was very smooth, safe and fun. The workers gave me a lot of info about other nature activities in the area. We will go back for sure.

Second time here....far busier day than the last time we came. But, once we decided we had all the gear we needed from the cars (which we didn't need after all), they had us in the van on on the road within 15 minutes, floating down the river in less that 30 minutes. Amazing...We came in contact with multiple staff, each one was as pleasant and helpful as the next. It's a real pleasure to see such teamwork in action.Thanks again, we'll be back!!

Edge of the Woods Outfitters, top notch service! My wife and I recently did the ten mile river trip with two single kayaks. We signed up for the six mile trip but decided to go ahead and do the ten mile after being on the water. The employee who checked us in was very friendly and helpful. She gave us our map, showed us the stopping point for the six mile and ten mile trip, just in case we decided to go further. There was no extra charge for the extra miles. We arrived for a 9 a.m. departure and had until 6 p.m. to be out of the water. We departed on time. The entire staff was great, answered all our questions, and got us in/out of the water quickly. The equipment was in good shape. The ten mile trip took us about 4 hours. It was our first time kayaking and we stopped a couple of times, spending one of those times eating some fruit and relaxing. Great experience, great service, and beautiful weather. Thank you Edge of the Woods Outfitters for your part in a fantastic day!

They were hugely helpful in making my brothers surprise camping trip a huge success. I'm a competent camper but was setting out with five guys who have never set up a tent before let alone paddled 22 miles with an overnight camp in the middle. The crew at Edge of the Woods made sure we had everything we needed and accommodated every question I had about making sure the crew had fun. I can't sing the praises of these guys enough and was so excited about the trip that I'm setting aside two nights to do a solo adventure later this fall.

The whole process was from check-in to pick-up was effortless. The staff are super friendly and knowledgable about the river. Make sure you allot enough time, 5 hours, if you opt for the 10 mile trip. There is a nice beach/picnic area at the 6 mile point which is a nice place to relax for a bit. The second leg of the trip contains some class 1 rapids. So be prepared if you are a novice paddler.I recommend this trip to anyone though. I cannot wait to go back.

Took the family on a canoe trip down the Delaware this past August and we had a blast. The outfitter is very reasonably priced and they have give you a life jacket if you forget to bring yours. They have kayaks for rent too and we'll be back!

This was an awesome experience! We did the 6mile tandem kayak, and it was quick and fun. We had fun with it and just drifted around. Much of it was the great weather and the water was still and smooth. The staff was knowledgeable, they gave us the great instructions. We could stop along the way and have a picnic. Explore any of the park if we wanted to stop:) fish were jumping out the water. I will be doing this again with edge of the woods!

Had a wonderful day on the Delaware thanks to Edge of the Woods. Very friendly and accommodating when I called to set up our trip on a beautiful 10 mile stretch of the river, were ready for us when we arrived and got us on the water in a timely fashion, and quickly picked us up at the end. The equipment was in good shape and their staff took the time to go over our trip so we were prepared.

Everything went very smoothly. Boats were in good condition and the staff was very friendly and on top of things.Only thing I would say is that the 4 mile trip, which says takes 2 hours, took us only 1 hour and we were not going that fast. We were a bit surprised to have hit the end that quickly.Regardless, would definitely use them again when I am back in the area.

We have tried other outfitters in the Poconos and this one is the best we have found. Check in was quick and organized. The staff were all very friendly and answered any questions anyone had. We were on the river in about half an hour of arriving. Will definitely be using them again.

We are up for the 4th of July from Baltimore and took out two single kayaks for the 6 miles run and loved it. The weather was in the 90s but brewing in the water kept us cool. The kayaks and paddles are in good condition and seemed to be kept up. Highly recommend them if you are in the area. They have single and double kayaks, rafts, blowup floats, and canoes.

If you are doing a 10 mile trip, make sure you are at the 6 mile mark at 3 pm sharp. My husband and I stopped to swim and eat lunch and got to the 6 mile mark at 3:15pm. After which we were hustled to get out of the river, because you are not going to make it by 6 pm. The math makes no sense. We did 6 miles in 3 hours with 40 min lunch break, but according to the staff we cant do 4 miles in 2 hrs 45 min. We tried explaining that we stopped to eat, but that didnt help. Our trip was cut short. Yes, it is our fault that we were 15 min late, but a little understanding from the staff would have helped.

Just recently went on the peddle and paddle package with my boyfriend. It was a very nice day although set up was a bit confusing. We did the bikes first and were told to go to Smithfield beach right away and when we got there we did not see the bikes. There were no signs and barely any cars in the parking lot to ask if we were in the right place. We called the phone number provided and they guided us to the bike rentals but there should be a sign indicating keep driving further for the bikes. The bike trail was nice and shady. The kid said it was 5 miles to the stone building but my Apple Watch said otherwise. Trip seemed to be about a mile short than the map says. Bikes were good quality. After the bikes we gave them back and then had to drive 10 min the to kayaks where they then shuttled us back 10 min to where we just were. There should be a better set up for that like just already have the kayaks there and someone to check us in at the beach instead of wasting all that driving time. The staff was very friendly though. We got our kayaks for the 6 mile trip. It was a nice time kayaking. We stopped along the side to eat subs for lunch. The map was very confusing though. I think they should put signs on the islands to indicate which island you are passing. Also there are a few private islands you are not allowed on but we couldn't tell them a part so we just did not get off. We never knew how far along we were maybe some mile markers would be helpful. Then towards the end we went under the bridge and were nervous because no other kayaks were in sight so we didn't know if we were going the right way or not we had to call the number on our map to ask if we keep going under the bridge or not. Overall it was a very nice trip just think it could use some better directions and signs.

Every year our extended family vacations together in the Poconos. As the 'locals' we play host. The 4 hour rafting trip is one of the annual highlights. The Delaware is gorgeous, and Edge of the Woods is top-notch. Our family of 3 and 3 other couples rented 4 of the nearly 17 foot canoes for the 2 day/1 night trip, which included our pop-up wedding. Chuck and Rachele (owners of this outfitter) were more than accommodating and knowledgeable when it came to helping organize and advise per our special day. They were always easily accessible before the season hit in order to help plan or answer any questions, regardless of how particular they may have been. Their prices were reasonable and included all gear and transport or the ability to rent gear was there. We were extremely grateful for their recommendation per which primitive campsites to check out for our wedding ceremony, which even included a photo of up and down stream on the nearby river bank. It was this incredibly kind gesture which paved the way for a truly unique setting for our unforgettable ceremony and the evening festivities to follow. We were also very lucky to have their input on weather conditions etc which ultimately caused us to drop into the river at a different location than originally planned. Enjoyed kayaking from Bushkill to Smithfield last week. No wait time when we got to the office, very friendly and efficient customer service, and the trip itself was beautiful - tranquil river all to ourselves.The only thing I'd improve is the kayaks themselves as they are good for maneuvering around the lakes but not very good about keeping a straight line going down the river for several hours. Overall an excellent trip that the whole family enjoyed and is ready to repeat!

Friendly, courteous and professional, nice equipment, told us everything we needed to know in order to enjoy a safe 10 mile trip down the Delaware. The only thing that we didn't really like (and this isn't their fault) was there is a large section of the river that's along Route 80 and the traffic noise seriously takes away from the pleasure of enjoying the sights and sounds of nature.
