Ive been a member for a long time (I was their second member when they first opened). The facilities are top notch, the staff is friendly, professional and always willing to help and provide assistance, suggestions & guidance when needed. Ive used the range, rented & purchased firearms, and purchased gear here. Safety is number one here - short safety course is mandatory for new shooters. Great range & wonderful people! A membership is invaluable as to range time & discounts on merchandise.

Pocono Pistol Club located in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania is a fantastic place for all people. From the professional lawmen to the weekend warrior. This place checks everything in the list you would want in a range. First thing is safety: above all else, even the law, safety is the first thing when it comes to guns and this place takes the steps to teach you the proper etiquette and rules. Of course, at the end of the day, you are still putting your life at risk, however, following what etiquette makes the chances of an accident in Virtual impossibility. The second check is the law, and I can guaranty this place appears to be legit, I've been here multiple times and never had an issue. They are good people. The third is supply: this can be complicated because it can not only be the guns and the ammo, but the other little things they sell, the services they supply, the environment that is the range itself, and the overall experience. This range, if the name doesn't give it away, is only for pistols and pistol caliber size rifles rounds (so .22LR etc). I have no idea why this limitation, it might be because it is only an indoor range. That may hurt the experience for some, but not for many while their collection of pistols is impressive. They also sell pistols and pistol accessory.Number 4 is affordability, and in my opinion, this place is affordable. Your first time here if you never fired a gun never might cost a little more then future visits but that is because you need to take a short class on gun safety by law. Also by law, you need to wear eye and ear protection, if you do not have any you will need to rent some. If you have your own, however (glasses count) you can just use your own. In fact, the range in its entirety could have prices removed time over again and again depending on what you have. Assuming you often shot, you have your own ear, eye protection, gun, ammo, and target then you would only pay for your spot on the range which is really isn't much.Other then the range there is a small shopping area right at the entrance. A lounge around the back. And what appears to be a private range for police which I personally think is super cool. There is also a gunsmith. At the end of the day, the Pocono Pistol Club isn't just a fun place to just to hone your skill it more like a pillar of the community. Everyone should fire a firearm once in their life, I recommend doing it here.

Gunny is a great guy! Very friendly and made my short stay enjoyable. There was a blonde female that went over the safety and showed me how to properly use the gun. She was extremely knowledgeable and awesome to be around. There was another old guy that was very grumpy and had a horrible attitude. I'm happy I didn't have to deal with him. The pistol I used worked perfectly with 0 issues. I would definitely go again

rented a timeshare to ski jack frost/bb for the week but unfortunately the forecast has been rain for the first 3 days we've been here.. we decided to look around and see what we could do and came across the gun range and read some good reviews. It's difficult to go to the gun range back on LI so we decided to give it a shot and we had a blast. Never shot a gun before and my gf wanted to go again the next day. Not that strict either. Deff recommend if you're trying to have some fun and pass some time.

I called several days prior to my visit just to inquire . Rich answered every question and remembered our conversation when I called to set appointment. The staff made you feel comfortable, it was my sons first time shooting he loved it. I would definitely recommend the visit. Wish I loved closer would definitely be a member. Thank you

I took my twelve year old son here for his first time holding a gun. It is important to me that he understands gun safety. We had to take a quick class that consisted of a movie and live instructions. $10 per per. I rented a 22 and despite the ridicule I get from my friends, I was comfortable with the no recoil this gun is known for. Bullets were priced at $10 (100 in a box). Lane rental came with one free target (normal cost $1.00). There was an extra fee for a second person at the lane. Total bill was around $80. We ended up buying two more boxes. Lanes are well respected by other shooters. Very clean and very friendly environment.

Great for training, but the prices were a little steep. Mandatory $10 training fee per person for a 5 minute video. $81 for two people to shoot 100 .22 rounds though a rifle. Nice staff nevertheless.

It was my first time ever shooting. The workers at this range were incredible. They take safety very seriously and allow you to practice until your comfortable. I was so nervous after one shot but, one of the men helped me ease into it and even found me a gun that I was more comfortable with. When I return to Pennsylvania I will definitely go here !

Stopped in late with my wife. Instructor said we were kinda late cause we had to take class. They let us take class and go on range for about 40 minutes. He was nice to do that. When we handed ear protection in, other instructor told me my wife gun only good for Target practice. Now he proceeds to pitch the glock to me like he had stock in company. Wouldn't stop talking, couldn't get a word in. Than gave me his card and offered private lessons. Didn't care for that at all. Other than that no complaints

We had such a great experience! I took my boyfriend to the Poconos for his 30th birthday... the staff was super attentive and helpful, i couldnt have asked for a better trip to the range... my only complaint is we live to far to come every week!

Staff was friendly and helpful. Safety class is a must, I did not mind paying $9.99 for the class if I have to go over the safety course again, I will. Only one thing I like to mention is the price of range time, I think it is a little too high. I go to indoor range to zero my pistols.

I want to give a retort to some of the very negative comments in these reviewsFirst please understand that the Poconos is a fairly popular tourist area so if you want range time on the weekends you had best call ahead and plan to get there early. It does get very busy. Precedence is given to annual members but you can't just walk in an hour before closing on a Saturday and expect to get a lane. Because of the number of first time shooters you will have to take a brief safety training. It's going to be real Barney Basic. Don't be offended by this because the management has to assume you have never seen a gun outside of a TV show before. Yes it does cost $10 mind you this is cheap I have seen ranges give the same presentation and it was $25. Administration costs exist and I would rather ensure that the guy next to me has at least had a safety briefing.That brings us to the Range Safety Officers. I know each one of them by name and they are top notch. Yes they are strict but again I would rather them be hyper vigilant than run the risk of being shot by some one who they didn't stop in time. These same guys and gals are also quick to give lots of tips and advice at every level of expertise. All of them are NRA certified and are made up mostly of former cops and military. The ones who are not are long time shooters and just as vigilant. Safety must ALWAYS be first at any range.Yes if you use their gun you use their ammo. That is a standard rule at any range. If you are thinking about buying a gun and they have one like that for rent it is still cheap money to give it a try to see if you will like it. You want to use your ammo buy a gun!I have never felt less than safe at this range, never been treated any less than warmly and welcomed. If you do have to wait there is a very comfortable lounge upstairs.Currently rental prices are1 Hr lane time $18 - One free targetFirearm rental $10 / hrSafety instruction $10 (one time)Discounts for Sr Citizens - active duty military (not sure about LEO)Targets are about $1 eachEyes and Ears $1 rentalIf you want a less crowded experience try shooting middle of the week in the day time.

All the staff besides one upset menstral elderly lady is top end. When my shot is off they give great tips and tricks to get u on target. The cons are huge in this line of work. Rule number one NO RAPID FIRE? how do you train without occasionally shooting vigorously ??? Thats insane, thankfully the next problem isnt mines since I have too many firearms, but the rental prices are out of the relm of normal and if u rent a gun the ammo you have to buy is the most expensive thing in the store. The prices this place has is simply not proper at all

Dont do biz with this place. After a scheduled appointment for my daughter that I made 1.5 weeks in advance, I got a call before my appointment and was told 'Sorry' I forgot the range was closed today. Sorry. So much for taking a vacation day. Wasted by Desi at the Pocono Pistol Range. Wouldn't be so bad if the notice came a day prior. Thank You for your policies Mr. Dunkelberger!!

First thing I want to say is that all the positive reviews you read were for the previous owners which was Dunkelbergers. Pocono pistol is now owned by bad business people who don't care about anyone except for ther money. There is no social distancing at all. You see signs about being 6 ft. apart but they put you in a range booth right next to anyone with the place being empty. My son and I went for little practice shooting and we rented 2 booths. The place was empty so we felt safe. After about 20 min. of practice they asked us to move upstairs because they were understaffed and had 1 guy playing security guard. Upstairs was a party of about 8 people in a small enclosed area. My son and I didn't feel safe so we asked for a refund and the new owner said he was going to charge us for 30 min. of range time and we were only there like 20 min. That's how desperate they are for cash. The owner himself couldn't refund us our money because he didn't know how to with a debit card, he had no choice but to give us cash.. lol... by the way if you were a previous customer they are going to make sign a waiver of some kind and charge you for it like you are a first time member. Pocono pistol is not the only pistol range in the poconos.. there are better..
