Can't say enough good about our experience staying here for 2 nights. Our granddaughter is already begging to go back. The homestead is immaculately maintained and has a variety of buildings reflective of what Laura Ingalls Wilder would have experienced. There are baby animals to see and pet, horses to ride, wagon rides, and other activities. You do not have to have read the books to love a visit here. The 4 RV sites, covered wagons or bunkhouse accomodations let you have access to the homestead in the day or evening after hours. The owners and staff keep everything in excellent condition and are friendly and informative from teaching our granddaughter how to bottle feed a week old calf to how to make rope. The grounds were open during the day from 11-6 (during Covid) and the visitors center/gift shop carried a large supply of books, old fashioned games, etc. Admission was $15 which was very reasonable for the amount there is to do there.

They charge way to much to see old buildings.

Hands down one of our favorite family trips! The Ingalls Homestead is set up with kids in mind with everything made to touch, experience, make, and play with. The Little House books came alive as our daughters cooked in Mas kitchen, discovered kittens in the barn, made corn cob dolls, ground wheat, washed clothes, and drove the covered wagon. Most of the 160 acres can be explored in an afternoon, but I highly recommend staying a night or two in the bunkhouse or covered wagons. We made some really sweet family memories and all left with a deeper understanding and appreciation for Lauras life on the prairie.

Loved it! So much is included with admission. The kids made jump ropes, rode a pony, drove the covered wagon, made corn cob dolls, and played with the little barn kittens (which were a highlight of the day). There's even a tiny Philly that's not even 8 weeks old yet. Awesome guy and his wife run the place. Very nice, we learned lots and it's beautiful here!
