I was on my way to my local gun shop to buy a 30-30 lever action rifle and was thinking Marlin.I phoned Marlin with a couple of specific questions:1. Which model has the Big Loop lever?2. Can I add a Big Loop to any of the 336s?3. Is there a significant difference between an 18.5 and 20 inch barrel? My call was guided to inside sales. The older woman as she called herself told me that none of the model 336s came with a Big Loop lever and none were able to be changed over unless I sent the rifle to Wild West Guns in Nevada!I asked her about the model 336BL, which was a 30-30 with a Big Loop lever on their website. She went on and on and on and on telling me that the photo most likely was a mistake. I asked about the 3rd line under features that spoke of it. After a bit she admitted she made a mistake and again a lonnngg monologue. Damn could she just go on and on! I asked the difference about 2 others and could a Big Loop lever be added to them. She emphatically said no! I said that didnt make sense as the 336 receivers should all be similar to keep costs down and a Big Loop should fit any of them.Absolutely not, she went on and on and on. Finally when she paused I asked for a manager. She asked why. I said because I would like to speak with one. She told me she would not transfer my call to a manager, as they wouldnt tell me anything different and again she went on and on and on about a Big Loop not fitting! I asked again for a manager, she again told me she checked about the Big Loop and again on and on. I asked yet a third time for a manager, she again said she, would not transfer my call and hung up.I phoned back, got a different woman just as hostile and short, not allowing any conversation beyond her. I phoned corporate customer service to be met with the same attitude. I phoned Remington only to get the same people again. These are the most long winded confrontational people I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with!I phoned my local gun shop and the lever can be added to any rifle by a gunsmith. This is the voice of Marlin and Remington. My Marlin 45-70 is now on gunbroker, I will not give my money to rude people!Im buying a Winchester 1894 Carbine, 10 rounds instead of 6 and they are professional and nice to deal with.Damned shame Marlin/Remington dont have managers overseeing their staff, thats what I was told, because its hard to get a new customer and almost impossible to get one back that you lost. This is how they treat you before you buy, imagine what it would be like after!Check Winchester, own a piece of history with people that appreciate you!
