WARNING BUYER BEWARE!!!! I was on the market for a 1903 Springfield I found this shop online and was delighted when I walked in a found they had a couple. I found one that had a nice wood with few flaws, a nice patina, and what I could see at the time a nice bore. After looking at it I thought it was a nice gun for a reasonable price and it was guaranteed to shoot by the older guy behind the counter so I bought the gun and a box of shells and headed to the range. I soon discovered at 100yds it was shooting very erratic and a 20yrds only ONE out of the FIVE shots hit a 1x1 steel target off a rest. I called the shop and was told those old guns dont like the hot modern ammo get some old surplus ammo and it should be fine so I got some old surplus ammo off a friend and the gun shot exactly the same and then I realized the gun I purchased off of Simmons Guns & Supply had a serious problem that did not involve the ammo. So I took out the bolt and cleaned the bore with a 30-06 wire brush bore cleaning tool and discovered major pitting that wasnt visible before in the shop. I called Simmons Guns & Supply the next day and spoke to the older man that I assume was the owner and the same man that said it was probably fine. His response was I guaranteed it to shoot it shoots I dont know what to tell you about it. Long story short I am now stuck with a rifle that I paid good money for that is useless and costs 525$ to have rebarreled. So before you think about buying anything that is used off of Simmons Guns & Supply keep your eyes open or youll find youre self paying a lot of money to fix something that was guaranteed to shoot.Would give zero starts but thats not a option!!!
