Extortion! Dishonest businessman. Avoid Shelly. Avoid Nashville Gun and Knife. Go to Royal Range for your needs. I went to Nashville Gun and Knife for the first time after being referred by Palmetto State Armory's website following the purchase of a Carcano rifle. Having checked the Nashville Gun and Knife website, I confirmed the price for an FFL Transfer at Nashville Gun and Knife of $55 (+10 for the TN review). That was markedly high for our area for a simple FFL transfer (Royal was significantly cheaper, and Ashland City was $25 last time I checked). But being one of my local gun stores and wishing to support a local business, I decided to pay the high FFL price and give the money to a new local store. No worries. When I got there, the staff was otherwise nice. However, at the cash register, I was rung up with a total of over $80!!! For an FFL transfer!!!! After speaking with the young man about what must have been a mischarge, Shelly, the owner bopped over, pointed at a paper taped to the register, and alerted me that "our prices had changed." I shared my shock at an $80 price tag and showed him his own website which listed $55, explaining that could not have possibly have known about a hand written new price on a piece of paper in the store when I was processing the FFL on Palmetto State Armory's sales page. Shelly's reply.... "Well I can send it back to Palmetto then". I could almost forgive the exorbitant price for what should be a $45 FFL transfer. However the unexpected delay and added cost represented extortion to me (and was not very neighborly to Palmetto) to threaten to ship the rifle back to the original seller. The added shipping, the added wait, and the unreasonableness of Shelly's response should be documented publicly for potential new customers to review. Avoid this gun store. The many poor reviews listed here document a pattern of behavior from Shelly. Go to Royal Range, where there is a far better facility, and where I have found the staff to be reasonable and honest. And yes, I have also been in contact with Palmetto State Armory sales staff and customer service about the event so that others would not have such an experience. Dishonest man. Avoid.

The folks who work there aren't friendly. Very rigid and not willing to work with their customers.

I was put off when I entered the store, very nice, and stated; I got a couple of my guns I told you about the other day I need holsters for AND THEY ARE LOADED. All was still cordial. When I set the cases guns upon the counter To display & unload each the tone changed to less pretty. They while cordial after my initial mistake, but had nothing for me.Guess I wont go back, too bad, prices are good, staff helpful, REMEMBER, NO LOADED GUNS, former LEO, lifetime carry status be damned. Nice store though, but wont be back.
