I have two of Howell's 5-shot Remington/Pietta conversion cylinders in .32 S&W and .45 ACP. Both work great, but the .45 is cylinder exceptional -- locks up and indexes tighter than the factory percussion cylinder and produces superb groups using 240 gr. cast lead bullets and IMR Trail Boss. Fired cases usually fall out without poking. Thanks to the 5-shot layout, I had ample room to counterbore rim recesses to allow the use of .45 Auto Rim brass -- these in turn permit the use of a tighter crimp. I may purchase another of their .45 cylinders in stainless steel one of these days.
