Decided to drive from Charlotte to Forest City and try some of their cuisine. The restaurant we were headed to was closed for vacation. We saw that Smith's was open and decided to give it a try. First time enjoying Smith's! There was 6 of us. Our waitress was a gem... a diamond in the rough! The burgers were incredible and delicious! We look forward to returning in the future!

We were down for the huge car show on main street. It was hot! It was lunch time so we stopped in because it was right there on main st. It was HOPPIN'. There is booths around the left corner that you cant see sat at one back there. Got a good menu for a drugstore. More than just shakes and loaf of bread sandwiches. Our service was good. It was busy but, we didnt run out of drink and the food was on the run fast! We got the cheeseburger and the clock club. If you get 2 sandwiches there is enough fries to share 1 basket. The burger was delicious it was real beef not frozen formed and pressed. The club was huge hubby had to take 1/2 of it home. You can see in the pic below how thick it is. Plus you have a choice of 3 diffrent breads to get. Sweet tea was good to not too sweet. The only reason we didnt give it 5 stars is that it was crinkle cut French fries with no seasoning. With all that our bill was 15.00. We would definitely eat here again if we come back!

I love this place. It has a gift shop which sales vintage candy from the 70s, has a diner with a 50s diner motif. Above all the amenities the food is great. My favorites are the chicken tenders or burger with fries. Everyone is so friendly and service is great.

Hard to beat this spot for breakfast or lunch! Another local hangout that has stood the test of time. I recommend the sourdough toast at breakfast and the tuna salad at lunch (make with sweet relish). Also has good ol' Rutherford Co. sweet tea- I mean good and sweet!
